Adventurous marketers looking to expand their social media education beyond the boardroom and their tablets can hop on a six-day Pacific coast cruise from Vancouver, BC to Los Angeles, CA aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Jewel leaving Sept. 21, 2013.
Social Media Camp will offer a four day program of social media exploration, sharing, teaching and networking on board. “Business people are looking for different ways to improve their professional development and get more enjoyment out of their learning at the same time,” says Chris Burdge, co-founder of Social Media Camp.
“This cruise provides learning in a relaxed setting as well as all the benefits of on-board cruise living,” says Burdge. “We want to provide something different and in keeping with the culture of Social Media Camp, allow campers to connect in an exciting environment while still preserving the tax deductions.”
Canadian digital media and communications specialist Tod Maffin will provide hands-on advice for cruisers on approaches to social media from a business point of view. Cruisers can expect to learn about measuring social media success and developing ROI positive strategies during Maffin’s sessions.
The week-long cruise departs Vancouver on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 making calls in Victoria, BC; Astoria, OR; San Francisco, CA; and arriving in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Prices start at $929 Cdn for an inside cabin and range to $1,012 Cdn for a veranda stateroom, based on double occupancy and including all conference fees and taxes. Airfare, alcoholic beverages, and gratuities are not included. A $100 Cdn deposit is required to hold space for the social media cruise conference.
The Norwegian Jewel offers endless buffets, along with custom-order action stations included in the cruise fee; fine dining options, including French, Japanese and an upscale steakhouse are available for an additional cover charge.
