Every year we try to offer delegates new and exciting experiences utilizing the latest technologies and platforms. This year, among other things, we held a series of live “On Air” Google+ Hangouts. We invited past SMC keynote speakers including Chris Brogan and other friends of SMC from around the world.
Kudos to Jane Boyd who facilitated and hosted this hangout with Chris Brogan in Boston, Greg McQueen in Denmark, John Overall in Ireland and April Ennis on PEI as well as a room full of people at SMC 2013.
Given the risks involved and the number of technical things that could have gone wrong we decided not to promote it too much. So once we went live and saw it was working fine we posted to Twitter with the #SMCamp hashtag at which point keynote speakers Sam Fiorella and Tod Maffin made their way into the room to take in the excitement prompting this tweet from Chris Brogan.
The result was an interesting and engaging conversation that showed SMC delegates the value and ease-of-use of Google+.
