Tonie Chaltas

Tonie is a guest speaker for our panel discussion: Social Media: The CEO’s Perspective

As ‎a seasoned communications professional with 25 years of experience, Tonie provides counsel to clients from the public, private and non-profit sectors. Her areas of focus include change management, internal communications, corporate reputation, stakeholder relations and government relations.

As Chief Operating Officer, Tonie is responsible for human resources, legal, information technology and the leaders who direct the firm’s national practices and services.

Before her 14 years at H+K, she opened the Toronto office for an Ottawa based government relations firm. Tonie also worked as a political advisor to Ontario Premier Mike Harris and co-directed two successful provincial election campaigns for the PC Party of Ontario.

Tonie is a member of the board of directors of Women’s College Hospital Foundation, sits on the executive committee and previously sat on the Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo Beyond her other community volunteer activities, Tonie can be found on twitter at @TonieChaltas where she often shares her insights and passion for Paris as well as business.

Bryan Dwyer

Bryan is a fourth-year marketing student in Victoria, BC. Concurrent with his education, he has had the opportunity to work with and learn from a local advertising agency and an online marketing consultant; and along with his studies and Community Manager responsibilities here at Social Media Camp, he is currently working as a consultant with the gift marketing platform Kiind. He has developed a passion for effective strategy, a fascination with new ideas, and a dependence on good coffee.
