Session Title: How to get the most out of on-line PR
Writing versus blogging: what matters? Does a travel writer have to be a trained journalist? What matters more – a well written column about your tourism property in a publication with a solid circulation or a mention on a travel blog? What is the value of a tweet, Facebook post, or a series of Pinterest posts from a travel blogger? Are third party links to your site more important than excellent writing and a story in Westjet’s in-flight magazine? How do you measure success?
The session will be facilitated by Deirdre Campbell, President of the Tartan Group, past chair of Tourism Victoria and current board member of KCTS9 public television.
The Tartan Group works in Tourism PR with properties, writers, and editors to find and tell stores – on multiple platforms. Whether you are in the tourism industry or another industry that needs to know how the world of public relations is evolving, join the Tartan Group’s session to hear a lively discussion about the evolving world of writing and editing and learn how to leverage new techniques in your promotional strategy.
