About the speaker:

Russel Lolacher is the Director of Web and Social Media for the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.  In his two years with the BC Public Service, he’s been leading the online presence of TranBC and DriveBC across multiple platforms, guiding them to become the two most engaging social profiles in the BC Government.

Russel previously worked in the BC Government Caucus as their communications manager and first social media strategist, leading the introduction of social platforms for government as a way of purposefully engaging constituents for elected officials. He also worked as a social media and public relations consultant for The Weather Network, a radio announcer/copywriter, and has been invited to speak at various events and in classrooms on social media, branding and communications. This is the fourth Social Media Camp he has had the pleasure of being involved in.
