Venerable Eshu Martin has been the Abbot of the Victoria Zen Centre since 2005. Born and raised in a tech savvy family, Eshu has been bringing the ancient traditions of Zen Buddhism to a broader and more diverse audience by enthusiastically embracing Social Media. On top of providing practice opportunities for individuals in the greater Victoria area, Eshu uses blogging, online meditation, podcasting, facebook, twitter, and even an avatar at the Kannon-ji temple in Second Life to make Zen practice accessible to anyone, no matter where they are.
