A Genuine Presence
I had been a follower of Viveka’s content for several years, prior to meeting her for the first time at Social Media Camp, in 2014. When I saw her on the list of speakers, I was excited by the opportunity to learn more from her, in person. What I wasn’t ready for was a person that turned an hour long presentation presentation into one of the most entertaining education sessions that I had yet experienced.
I have, over the years, met speakers who were almost dismissive of their audience, once they have left the stage, or were so focused on pitching their product or service that it was easy to ignore them. Not so, with Viveka. Genuine, humourous, fact filled and full of actionable take-aways filled her time in front of the crowd. Following the presentation, I had a chance to speak to her face-to-face. The engaging personality on stage was the same, perhaps more so, in person. The smile and warmth was not reserved for just peers and clients. Everyone introduced and met was treated with the same vivacious personality and humour. Her presence is both infectious and stimulating, drawing out the very best in the people around her.
Presenting LinkedIn Publisher
LinkedIn Publisher was originally a feature that was reserved for select group of about 500 influencers and thought leaders (including the likes of Richard Branson and Bill Gates) to publish their thoughts and ideas in long form, blog like, posts. Over the course of a year, LinkedIn saw the feature gain some real traction for these influencers and the people who followed them. In the early part of 2014, it was released for use by all LinkedIn users and now features prominently in the marketing and business development strategies of many people and businesses across many sectors and industries.
