CALL FOR SPEAKERS

Would you like to join us as a speaker at the 2020 Social Media Camp? Do you have a story to tell? An experience to share? Some incredible knowledge about the future of social media marketing?
We are looking for enthusiastic speakers who can share their message and experience from the stage and thus ensuring our conference attendees walk away with more knowledge and inspired to grow their business.We are looking for keynote speakers, session speakers and workshop presenters.

WHY SOCIAL MEDIA CAMP?
We have lots of reasons why you should join us for SMC 2020.

1. Well Victoria for one! If you haven’t been to Victoria, then it is something you need to experience. We’ll make sure you see more than just a conference centre!
2. We are not just about learning, but also about the opportunities that come when you mix a room with 800 passionate learners. Bring on the ideas and networking!
3. We have a broad cross-section of attendees including small business, large business, non-profits, government, marketing and communications experts, students, business decision makers, and keen novices.
4. We named Social Media “Camp” for a reason. We like to have fun and think outside the box when it comes to conference planning. Who knows, you may see a ‘smore or two!

TOPICS
We are looking for dynamic speakers who are respected in the field of social media marketing. Topics of interest for 2020 are:

# Story telling through social media
# Social media strategies
# Building content that converts
# How to use photography, video and other mediums for social media
# Marketing for small to corporate businesses
# Tools for social media and marketing

Related and relevant topics complimentary to social media, such as Digital Strategies, Lead Generation, SEO, SEM, Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Website Design, etc. will also be considered.

EVALUATION PROCESS
Selection criteria includes the presenter’s credentials, expertise, experience and fit with SMC 2020 program objectives.We do like to see our speakers hang out for the full two days of the conference, so if you are on a promo or book tour, we welcome your application, but do plan to stay for a couple days.

The process:
# Our Program Committee will evaluate each applicationand select those that are the best fit.
# Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email.
# If chosen as a speaker for 2020, presenters will be notified by email.

SPEAKER’S AGREEMENT AND COMMUNICATION
Following selection of their submission, speakers are asked to sign a Speaker’s Agreement, which includes a commitment to maintain an educational focus and strictly no selling from the stage. There are also provisions for live streaming and recording of sessions.Presentations are limited to no more than 45 minutes.

SMC 2020 presenters will receive one (1) Pass to the conference but do not receive fees and are responsible for their own travel expenses including hotel, airfare and ground transportation.

In exchange for their participation, speakers benefit through their association with Social Media Camp and their exposure to an audience of business professionals, media and potential customers.

We want speakers who are excited about being at Social Media Camp. There is quite a buzz online leading up to the conference, and we want speakers who are part of that buzz – inviting people in their network to join them – online, or at the conference itself. Presenters are provided a discount code to share with their networks.
