Call for Speakers
We are inviting speaker proposals for the 10th annual Social Media Camp in Victoria, BC on April 25-26, 2019.
Social Media Camp is truly a “social” experience. People appreciate the expertise from the stage, but also appreciate tremendously the informal exchange – networking and ideas sharing. There are experts in the audience, as well as on the stage.
There is a broad cross-section of attendees from small business, large business, non-profits, government, marketing and communications experts, students, business decision makers, and keen novices.
If you are on a “fly through” promo-tour, this isn’t the conference for you. If you could see Canada’s largest social media conference as an event you would be interested in attending and networking at, whether you were speaking or not, then Social Media Camp is just be the place for you.
We are looking for people that can speak with authority on social media-related topics to a diverse audience. Related and relevant topics complimentary to social media, such as Digital Strategies, Lead Generation, SEO, SEM, Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Website Design, etc. will also be considered.
The Program Committee will evaluate each application and shortlist those that are the best fit. Selection criteria includes the presenter’s credentials, expertise, experience and fit with the #SMCamp program objectives.
- Applicants that get short-listed will be contacted by email.
- Speakers whose presentations are chosen for inclusion in the program will be notified by email.
- Presentations are limited to no more than 45 minutes.
Speaker’s Agreement and Communication
Following selection of their submission, speakers are asked to sign a Speaker’s Agreement, which includes a commitment to maintain an educational focus and strictly no selling from the stage. There are also provisions for live streaming and recording of sessions.
Social Media Camp presenters will receive one (1) Pass to the conference but do not receive fees and are responsible for their own travel expenses including hotel, airfare and ground transportation.
In exchange for their participation, speakers benefit through their association with Social Media Camp and their exposure to an audience of business professionals, media and potential customers.
We want speakers who are excited about being at Social Media Camp. There is quite a buzz online leading up to the conference, and we want speakers who are part of that buzz – inviting people in their network to join them – online, or at the conference itself. Presenters are provided a discount code to share with their networks.
